Catherine Lewis – Chiropractor
I graduated from the College of Chiropractic in Abingdon with a Masters in Chiropractic after four years of full time study, I am a member of the Royal College of Chiropractors and am registered with the General Chiropractic Council. Whilst studying chiropractic I also completed a diploma in sports massage.
I have received chiropractic care from the age of six, from my Mum who is also a qualified chiropractor. The human body has always fascinated me, I have been very interested in the biomechanics of the body and the role of chiropractic in facilitating the innate ability of the body to heal itself.
I have always been involved in sport, from a very young age I have owned my own horse, I now have 3 horses and compete regularly on my mare, Chirssie. I have also played badminton since I was 11 years old at club level. Other interests I have are in classic cars, having owned a classic Mini City since I first passed my test.
Ollie Harris – Sports Massage Therapist
My name is Ollie Harris and I am currently studying to be a Chiropractor at university in Bournemouth. In 2017, I decided to enhance my skills by gaining my Level 3 diploma in Sports Massage.
I have been involved in sport ever since I first stepped on the Judo mat with my mum at 4 years old. Since then I have won a British National medal, been on the England Judo Squad for a number of years, represented England at Competitions abroad and at the UK School games. I am currently a 2nd Dan black belt.
I was also heavily involved with Rugby all through senior school and also played for Newbury up to U16. I have since qualified as a referee.
My other sporting interest is Skiing, a sport I started at a very young age on a family holiday and an activity we continue to enjoy every year.
Maintenance and rehabilitation of the body has always been a big part of my sporting life but my real interest in Chiropractic and Sports massage started when I injured my shoulder at Judo. I visited Newbury Chiropractic Centre as a patient, and it opened my eyes to how chiropractic and sports massage is able to help patients return to full health.
I have been treating the players at Newbury and Osaka Judo Clubs with Sports massage since I qualified in 2017, even helping one player get a damaged hamstring repaired and ready to fight in the British Championships with just 3 weeks to go. He competed and won Silver!
The workings of the human body are fascinating and understanding how I can help people are what inspires me to achieve.
